Whoever breaks the law, he should be punished.(让步状语从句)‎ ‎(=No matter who breaks the law, he should be punished.) 3. it构成的主语从句 (1)由连词that引导的主语从句,在大多数情况下会放到句子的后面,而用代词it作形式主语。如: It is well-known that the earth moves around the sun. It was reported that the US was under the terrorist attack.(主语从句,有that,无逗号) As was reported, the US was under the terrorist attack. It is a fact (a good idea / a pity / a shame / no wonder / good news…)that…如: It’s a pity that you missed the film. It is necessary(clear / true / strange/ important /wonderful / possible / likely…)that… It is necessary that you(should)master the computer. It is important that a student learn English well. It’s clear that they badly need help. It is likely that a hurricane will arrive soon. It is reported(well-known / hoped / thought / expected /said /believed/decided /suggested /‎ ordered…)that…如: It is said that he was killed in the earthquake. It seems(happened / appears / doesn’t matter / makes no difference / …)that …如: It seems that they will win the game. It makes no difference whether he will attend the meeting or not.‎ ‎【典型例题】‎ ‎1、_____ in the regulations that you should not tell other people the password of your e-mail account. A. What is required B. What requires C. It is required D. It requires 【答案】C。 2._________made the school proud was_________ more than 90% of the students had been admitted to key universities. A. What; because B. What; that C. That; what D. That; because 【答案】B。 3、________she couldn't understand was ________fewer and fewer students showed interest in her lessons. ‎ 第 22 页 共 22 页 ‎ ‎ A. What...why B. That...what C. What...because D. Why...that 【答案】A。 ‎ ‎【点拨】主语从句she couldn't understand缺少宾语,要用What引导。表语从句fewer and fewer students showed interest in her lessons是一个完整的句子,要用why引导,意思是“为什么越来越少的学生对她的课感兴趣” 【实战演练】 1. ____ the 2012 Olympic Games will be held in Paris is not known yet A. He had left a message the night before, telling me that my show was to be cancelled. I called him several times, but each time his secretary told me that he was in a meeting and that he would call me later. So I waited and waited, but there was still no call. By the time I lift work at 5 pm, however, the road into our village was flooded. Our house bad never been flooded but, as I opened the front door, a wave of water greeted me. Thank God the kids weren’t with me, because the house was 5 feet deep in water. We lost everything downstairs. And the plaster had to be torn off the walls, ceilings pulled down. ‎ At first we tried to push on through. We didn’t want to move the children out of home, so we camped upstairs. we put a sheet of plastic across the floor to protect us from the damp. But after three months, we felt very sick, so we moved to a wooden house in a park. The house was small, but at first we were all just delighted to be in a new place. Unfortunately, things took longer than expected and we were there for 10 months. The life there was inconvenient. What surprised me most was how much I missed being part of a community(社区).We had lived in a friendly village with good neighbours, and I’d never thought how much I’d miss that. ‎ Although-our situation was very bad, it’s difficult to feel too sorry for yourself when you look at what’s happening elsewhere. I watched a news report about floods in Northern India and thought , “We didn’t have a straw hut(茅草房)that was swept away , and our house is still sanding . We’re lucky .” ‎ We moved back home in August. With December coming, there’s reconstruction work to be done, so it’s difficult to prepare for Christmas. But I can’t wait — I’m going to throw a party for our friends in the village to say thanks for their support. This year , I won’t need any gifts — living away from home for months has made me realize how little we actually need or miss all our possessions . Although we are replacing things, there’s really no rush — we have our home back, and that’s the main thing. ‎ ‎60. What does the underlined word “amiss” in the first paragraph mean? ‎ A. Wrong. B. If you get lost, this is what you should do. Sit down and stay where you are. Don’t try to find your friends—let them find you. You can help them find you by staying in one place. There is another way to help your friends or other people to find you. You can shout or whistle three times. Stop. Then shout or whistle three times again. Any signal given three times is a call for help. Keep up shouting or whistling. Always three times together. When people hear you, they will know that you are not just making a noise for fun. They will let you know that they have heard your signal. They will give you two shouts or two whistles. When a signal is given twice, it is an answer to a call for help. If you don‘t think that you will get help before night comes, try to make a little house with branches. Make yourself a bed with leaves and grass. When you need some water, you have to leave your little branch house to look for it. Don’t just walk away. Pick off small branches and drop them as you walk in order to go back again easily. But the computer is placed in Sunnyside,。 about 80 kilometers away. What scientists input (输入) is sent by telephone lines to the computer, and after a time, copies of the designs are needed back in Felton as quickly as possible Lockheed people have tried several ways of sending the prints, but the most effective seems to be by pigeon. Are pigeons really used to carry messages in these days? They are, and they send the prints faster and cheaper than any other way. Human messengers are much more expensive and slower than the pigeons. The road to Felton goes through the mountains, and the driving is not easy. An electronic printout (电子打印输出) system could do the work in Felton, but at a cost of 10 dollars a print. Pigeons carry the designs for about 1 dollar each. Most people know this joke. But recently, some people have been much more concerned with how the grizzly bear and mountain lion can cross the road. Millions of animals die each year on U.S. roads, the Federal Highway Administration reports. In fact, only about 80 ocelots, an endangered wild cat, exist in the U.S. today. The main reason? Roadkill. "Ecopassages" may help animals cross the road without being hit by cars. They are paths both over and under roads. "These ecopassages can be extremely useful, so that wildlife can avoid human conflicts," said Jodi Hilty of the Wildlife Conservation Society. But do animals actually use the ecopassages? The answer is yes. Paul Beier of Northern Arizona University found foot marks left by mountain lions on an ecopassage that went under a highway. This showed that the lion used the passage. Builders of some ecopassages try to make them look like a natural part of an area by planting trees on and around them. Animals seem to be catching on. Animals as different as salamanders and grizzly bears are using the bridges and underpasses. The next time you visit a park or drive through an area with a lot of wildlife, look around. You might see an animal overpass!‎ ‎ 72. All good lessons arid habits begin early, and saving is a skill that everyone needs. Many people—adults included—do not have a good sense of saving for the long run. I have been lucky to learn this lesson early because I have had a grass-cutting business since I was 10 years old. Of the money I make I spend about 10 percent and save the other 90. Making sure you save and don't spend too much is a good way to build up wealth. I have put my earnings in a bank. Many teens I know spend all the money they earn so it never has a chance to grow. Young people should realize that their teenage years are a great time to begin saving. At high school many parents pay for almost everything, so your expenses can be small. If you have a lob, you should have fun with some of the money. But you should also save some so that it will grow. Then you can begin planning for your future. When you spend money, you not only lose that money, but also lose the interest you could have earned by saving it. After high school, college is expensive and then "real" life begins, with expenses such as food and rent. If you can hold onto a good percentage of the money you earn as a teen, going to college and buying a house will be much easier.________________, the more time the money has to grow. If you are in your thirties without any savings, you will always have to struggle. The earlier you begin saving, the easier it is to create a nest egg. ‎ Later in life it can be hard to start saving because general costs of living are more expensive and you may only have enough to pay your bills. If you want to buy a house and have a family, you need money to start with, which comes from saving. Many say money cannot make you happy, and this is true. But money can help you to lead a secure life. Saving early will mean you will have to work for fewer years when you are older. It will also allow you to spend time doing the things that you want to do. In addition to this, it will mean you can live the way you want to without worrying. 76. It is indeed a wonderful idea and everyone hopes for its success.‎ I would like the newspaper to have three columns: News, Teachers' Advice and Students' Voice. From the News column we can learn about what is going on in both of our schools. In Teachers' Advice, our teachers can give us such help as we may not be able to get in the classroom. Students' Voice will allow us to freely express our thoughts and feelings about our lives and studies.‎ I believe that this magazine will surely strengthen our ties, and I am looking forward to reading it.‎ Yours faithfully,‎ 附听力录音原文 Text 1‎ W: How is your mother feeling these days? ‎ M: Much better, thanks.
