Since January 2019, the disease has infected more than 700 people, mostly small children, and the number seems to be increasing daily.‎ Measles is an infectious disease that typically begins with a high fever, cough, runny nose, and red, watery eyes. Many people also lose their appetites and feel sleepy. About three to four days after the symptoms start, the person breaks out into a rash (皮疹) that begins on the face at the hairline and then spreads to the neck and the rest of the body.‎ In healthy people, the recovery, which takes between two to three weeks, starts soon after the rash begins. However, for about 40 percent of patients — mainly kids under the age of five or older adults — the disease often leads to pneumonia (肺炎), which, if left untreated, could result in death.‎ The recent outbreak is thought to have been caused by travelers picking up the virus in a country ‎ where the disease is still existing and exposing it to an unvaccinated (未接种的) community in the US. In New York, it was carried back by someone who had recently visited Israel, which is currently undergoing a significant measles, while in Washington, “patient zero” was infected by a type that is currently circulating in Europe.‎ To limit the spread of the disease before it gets out of hand, US health officials are attempting to educate communities with high rates of unvaccinated children. They are also urging adults to consult with their physicians and get injected if considered necessary by the doctor.‎ Hopefully, health officials worldwide will be able to convince parents that vaccinating their children will protect, not harm, them.‎ ‎24.What is the third paragraph mainly about?‎ A. The symptoms of measles. B. The possible results of measles.‎ C. The causes of measles. D. The cures for measles ‎25.Why did some people develop measles in America?‎ A. Because it is too hot this year. B. Because people are too stressed.‎ C. Because pollution is too serious. D. Because the virus was taken to America.‎ ‎26.In which section of a newspaper may this text appear?‎ A. Health. B. Education. C. Science. D. Entertainment.‎ C Learning is so complex that there are many different psychological theories to explain how people learn. A psychologist named Albert Bandura suggested a social learning theory which shows that observation, imitation (模仿), and modeling play a primary role in this process.‎ In Albert Bandura’s opinion, people can learn through observation. Observational learning doesn’t even necessarily require watching another person join in an activity. We can also learn by reading, hearing, or watching the actions of characters in books and films. However, just observing someone else’s actions isn’t always enough to lead to learning. Your own mental state also plays an important role in determining whether a behavior is learned or not. In addition, though in many cases, learning can be seen immediately when the new behavior is displayed, yet sometimes we can learn things even though that learning might not be immediately obvious, which means people can learn new information without showing new behaviors.‎ Not all observed behaviors are effectively learned. Certain requirements need to be related to the observational learning process. For example, you need to be paying attention. Also your retention is an important part of observational learning as you need to pull up information later and act on it during the process. Once you’ve paid attention to the model and kept the information, it’s time to actually perform the behavior you observed. Further practice of the learned behavior leads to improvement. Finally, you have to be motivated to imitate the behavior that has been modeled.‎ Social learning theory has many real-world applications. For example, researchers employ it to look into and understand ways that positive role models can be used to encourage desirable behaviors. Besides, it’s also applied in the field of education, and today, both teachers and parents recognize how important it is to model appropriate behaviors.‎ ‎27.What can we infer about observational learning from Paragraph 2?‎ A.Its effects on a person tend to be very obvious.‎ B.Its effectiveness is determined by the mental state.‎ C.Its most useful means should be careful watching.‎ D.It doesn’t necessarily lead to a change in behavior.‎ ‎28.What does the underlined word “retention” in Paragraph 3 most probably mean?‎ A.Curiosity B.Creativity. C.Memory D.Imagination.‎ ‎29.What should you do to make observational learning successful?‎ A.Learn to be judgmental. B.Look for a motivator.‎ C.Try to be imaginative. D.Focus on the process.‎ ‎30.According to the text, the social learning theory ___________.‎ A.was doubted at first B.remains to be tested C.is of practical use D.is based on experiments 第二节 (共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分) ‎ 根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。‎ Are you always embarrassed at social events?Or do you often struggle (挣扎)to enter into conversations because you are shy?If so,your social life and career may have been influenced in some way. 31. The old animal spent her days in the open country eating grass. It was Sylvie’s job to bring her home to be milked.‎ This evening, as usual, the child hurried the cow through the dark forest, following a narrow path that led to her grandmother’s home.‎ She came across a young man in front of the house. “Hello, little girl,” he said. “I’ve been looking for birds, but I’ve lost my way.” The young man explained he was a scientist, who searched for birds. “Do you put them in a cage (鸟笼)?” Sylvie asked. “No,” he answered, “I kill them and keep them for my study.”‎ ‎“I saw a white heron (苍鹭) not far from here yesterday. Have you seen it, too?” he asked Sylvie.‎ ‎ Sylvie’s heart began to beat fast. She had seen that white bird on the other side of the forest. The young man continued. “I will give $ 10 to you if you show me where it is.”‎ Sylvie thought happily she would get the $10 for her grandmother. Then she went to climb to the top of a tall tree. The higher Sylvie climbed, the taller the tree seemed to grow. Suddenly, a bird with broad white wings and a long neck flew past Sylvie. The white heron sat on the nest in a nearby tree. She found the heron’s secret home.‎ Sylvie slowly began her dangerous trip down the tall tree. She didn’t dare to look down and tried to forget that her fingers hurt and her feet were bleeding. All Sylvie wanted to think about was what the stranger would give to her when she told him where to find the heron’s nest.‎ 注意:1. ‎ When Sylvie returned, both her grandmother and the young man stood up.________________ ‎ ‎________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________‎ ‎________________________________________________________________________________‎ ‎________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________‎ 录音原文 Text 1‎ M: What’s your favorite color, Mary?
