The difficult situation of those I saw touched me deeply.‎ I felt I must do something, and, as a single mother, I decided to come up with a plan that fitted my limited budget. I began by setting aside five to ten dollars and passing them out to those I met on the street each week.‎ Though a dollar felt like a small amount, I realized how powerful it was. For me, I recognized that those I passed by were people just like me. Sometimes we would joke a bit and smile together. On some occasions, I was able to give more. I don’t know how and if the dollars helped, but I know that the connections we made did.‎ One day after I had started this weekly practice, I had saved up enough to buy myself a new winter coat. With it around my shoulders, I realized that my old coat could still be put to use by someone who had little or nothing to protect them from the cold. However, at that moment, I felt inspired to pass on this opportunity for kindness. I turned to the salesman who had helped me, and asked if he would feel comfortable taking my old coat, walking to the corner, and offering it to someone in need. Slightly taken aback, he smiled. “I will as soon as I get a break,” he said. “Thanks for being so considerate.”‎ I can’t help but feel that my experiences with kindness have moved me to pass it on, and in this way, I feel I’ve helped more than just those I pass by on the street. Kindness touches many hearts, and I am grateful for the way it has touched mine.‎ ‎24. Why did the author decide to come up with a plan? ‎ ‎ A. It might have been a small amount to them.‎ ‎ D. It brought a friendly connection between them.‎ ‎26. What do the underlined words “taken aback” in the fourth paragraph probably mean?‎ A. Surprised. B. Satisfied. C. Upset. D. Frightened.‎ C Dogs may help save the day in the Philippines, as they use their noses to smell out survivors buried by Friday’s mudslide (泥石流). The team of dogs arrived in the Philippines from Spain, and this Tuesday they were just beginning their work. Search officials told CNN they hope the recent rain will wash away the smell of rescue teams so the dogs can do their job more accurately.‎ The dogs were brought in after sound equipment found sounds coming from deep inside the ruins, at a place where a school stood before the mudslide covered it. The sounds could mean people are still alive under all the mud or it could just be the earth resettling.‎ On Monday, rescue workers worked at the school site until three in the morning, trying to locate survivors, and they will begin digging again as soon as the dogs think they find someone.‎ Human teams from the US, Malaysia, and Australia are all trying to help, too. But so far they have yet to locate any survivors. Rescue workers told CNN that an earlier report that 50 survivors had been found was false.‎ How did all that mud bury the village in the first place? On Friday, 2,400-foot Mt Kanabag turned into a mudslide after two weeks of constant rain weakened it. The mountain crumbled and the mud fell onto the village Guinsaugon, burying the 1,800 people who lived there. Out of the 300 houses in the village, only 3 were not covered by the mud. The village is on a southern Philippine Island called Levte. Rescue efforts have been difficult because the village takes six hours to reach from the nearest airport. Hopefully, the dogs can help their human friends find survivors.‎ ‎27. According to the search officials’ words in the first paragraph, we can learn that ________.‎ A. the smell of rescue teams can disturb the dogs B. the dogs can follow the smell of rescue teams C. the dogs can’t smell the rescue teams D. the dogs can tell the smells of buried people and rescue teams apart ‎28. The main purpose of this passage is probably ________.‎ A. to show the way to rescue the victims in the ruins B. to introduce the instruments to save victims in a disaster C. to tell readers that dogs can smell out victims buried in the ruins D. to show how to train dogs to save victims in a mudslide ‎29. How many survivors have been found by the dogs?‎ A. 50. B. Only a few. C. 1, 800. D. None.‎ ‎30. The reason why the rescue work wasn’t going smoothly was probably that ________.‎ A. the rain was heavy B. so many people were buried C. it was difficult to reach the village ‎ D. these is little chance to save the survivors 第二节(共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分)‎ 根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。‎ If you feel depressed (消沉的), it’s best to do something about it—depression doesn’t just go away on its own. Take a 15-to-30-minute walk every day—or dance and bike if you prefer. 31 But make yourself do it anyway. Once you get in the exercise habit, it won’t take long to notice a difference in your mood. ‎ Provide yourself with good nutrition. Depression can affect appetite (食欲). One person may not feel like eating at all, but another might overeat. 32 So eat plenty of fruits and vegetables and get regular meals (even if you don’t feel hungry, try to eat something light, like a piece of fruit, to keep you going). ‎ Find out troubles. 33 When you know what’s got you feeling blue and why, talk about it with a caring friend. Talking is a way to receive some understanding. If there’s no one to tell, pouring your heart out to a journal works just as well. ‎ ‎ 34 Depression affects a person’s thoughts, making everything seem unhappy and hopeless. If depression has you noticing only the negative, make an effort to notice the good things in life. Try to notice one thing, and then try to think of one more. Consider your strengths or ‎ gifts. ‎ Most of all, don’t forget to be patient with yourself. 35 ‎ A. Look on the bright side. ‎ B. Take action to solve problems.‎ C. He would film the dangerous action and put it on YouTube. And, he hoped to become famous on the Internet. But things didn't go the way he imagined. His clothing caught fire, and he was rushed to the hospital with serious burns on his body.‎ YouTube hosts millions of videos of people attempting dangerous actions. Many of them are by kids and young adults. Some experts say that by hosting these videos, YouTube encourages young viewers to take deadly risks. Research by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows that more than 180,000 Americans die from accidental injuries each year. That's one person every three minutes. More than 14,000 of those killed are kids under the age of 19. Is YouTube to blame?‎ People have always found it interesting to watch others try risky things. Audiences are mad about these kinds of things. Some of the earliest Greek comedies had characters followed by wild animals and knocking into walls. Now, in the age of the Internet, anyone with a camera and a YouTube account can create this kind of “fun”. Many viewers, especially teenagers, are ‎ influenced by what they see and want to try it themselves. “YouTube has taken the playing in the neighborhood to a worldwide level,” says Clair Mellenthin, a researcher from the Centers.‎ Supporters of YouTube argue that it isn't YouTube's responsibility to examine its content. “Parents should be the ones to make sure that kids are behaving safely,” they say. In fact, YouTube has a rule on content. For example, dangerous activities that have a risk of serious physical harm or death are not allowed. Staff of YouTube, carefully watch the website 24 hours a day, looking for videos that are against their rules. But is this enough?‎ ‎【参考答案】‎ 听力部分:1—5CBACB 6—10ABCAC 11—15BCCBA 16—20ABBCA 阅读理解:21—23 DCD 24—26 DDA 27—30 ACDC ‎ 七选五: 31—35 EDFAC 完形填空:36—40CADBD 41—45CDBAC 46—50ADABC 51—55CDBAB 语法填空 ‎56. Different people have different ideas.‎ Some students think that doing exercises is a waste of time. Doing exercises makes us tired. If the time is used to study or rest, we will be dynamic and get better results.‎ However, others don’t think so. They believe that we should do exercises every day. Doing exercises can make our body healthy, reduce our illness and improve our efficiency of study.‎ Personally, we students should take physical exercise every day but we should pay attention to the time. We should not do exercises for a long time, because going beyond the limit is as bad as falling short.‎ 第二节 概要写作 Possible version:‎ Millions of people, some of whom are teenagers, are attempting dangerous actions and put them on YouTube, which makes people believe YouTube should answer for such tragedies. (要点1)The fact is that people, whether ancient or modern, love watching others try risky or deadly things. (要点2)Therefore, not only YouTube but also parents and teenage viewers themselves should be responsible for their monitoring and behaviors. (要点3)‎
