branches with both hands. When opening the door, he showed an amazing change. His face was
full with smiles and he hugged his two small children and gave his wife a kiss.
Afterward he walked me to the car. We passed the tree and my curiosity got the better of me.
I asked him about what I had seen him do earlier. "Oh, that's my trouble tree," he replied "I
know I can't help having troubles on the job, but one thing's for sure, troubles don’ t belong in the
house with my wife and the children. So I just hang them up on the tree every night when I come

Hair has always been an important sign of beauty. Whether long or short, curly or straight,
hair often gets a lot of attention.
Each hair on a person's head grows from a single tube-like hole in the skin called a follicle
(毛囊). The average person has about one hundred thousand hair follicles.
The part of the hair under the skin is known as the hair root The hair sticking out from the
skin is known as the hair shaft(毛干). At the base of the hair root is a small ball-like formation
called a bulb (球状毛根). This is where new cells are formed. As new cells form, the older cells
are pushed up through the root. In time, the old cells are cut off from the blood supply and begin
to form a hard protein called keratin (角蛋白). Keratin is the same protein found in our skin and
nails. These dead cells and keratin are what make up the hair shaft. This whole process is what
causes hair to grow.
On average, a person loses between 50 and 100 hairs every day. Once the Telogen (休止
期) period has ended, the hair growth process begins again Your genes control how fast or how
long your hair will grow. Some people have a longer than usual Anagen(生长期) period These
people may be able to grow more hair than the average person.

A. you are really healthy B. you have a long Telogen
C. your Anagen is longer D. you have more follicles

World music is a term for "combined music . It mixes together all the music that falls
outside of the usual rock or indie(独立制作的)pop. However, nowadays the phrase just doesn't
seem right.
On Wednesday the native Australian musician Gurrumul received his Australian Record
Industry Association award for best world music album Gurrumul comes from Arnhem Land, in
the northern part of Australia and sings in his native Yolngu language. Though he is like other
native Australians, his music is considered as "world music" in a way. However, the music of
other Australian singers such as Paul Kelly or Courtney Barnett isn't.
Michael Hohnen, a famous Australian singer, told Guardian Australia that he feels uneasy
about the world music tag( 标 签 ). "The thing that Gurrumul does differently from every
mainstream artist is that he sings in an Australian language. Australian languages are not a foreign
language, he says.
Hohnen says world music includes native and "cross-cultural music". Gurrumul and his
family want to share his music as broadly as possible. However, "The world music scene can be
quite limiting,” he says. "It can be a bigger problem to jump over, an opinion that's difficult to
shake. "
He says world music is ruled by African traditions. "A lot of it is riff-based chants(即兴演
唱). The kind of music Gurrumul plays doesn't fit that musical style. "
The musician David Byrne was against the thought. "When we talk about world music
we find ourselves talking about 99% of the music on this planet "
32. Gurrumul is a singer who . .
A. is more popular outside Australia
B. sings better than Paul Kelly or Courtney Barnett
C. has released his world music album in English
D. has produced his album in his native Yolngu language
33. According to Hohnen, the world music tag _'
A. is what most singers pursue
B. doesn't suit Gurrumul's music at all
C. has been created from Australian music
D. fits in with singers who were born in China
34. We can know from the text that _ .
A .Hohnen agrees to Gurrumul's award
B. Gurrumul is different from other mainstream artists
C. Hohnen's opinion about world music is wrong
D. David Byrne agrees with Hohnen's opinion
35. The text is mainly about .
A. Gurrumul's success B. advantages of world music
C. comments on Gurrumul's music D. the popularity of world music
