IMark Elliot Zuckerberg was born on May the 14th, 1984. He is the creator of the social media site Facebook. He was a star student at school, winning prizes in astronomy, maths and physics. He was also good at Classical studies. He studied Psychology and Computer Science at Harvard University, which is where he created Facebook. His invention led to his becoming Time magazine’s Person Of The Year for 2010.
Zuckerberg excelled in everything he did in his youth. He was captain of the school fencing team, spoke many languages and was a highly skilled computer programmer. While other kids played computer games, he designed them. He created his first network while in high school to connect all of the computers - in his father’s dental surgery. He also built a media player which attracted the interest of Microsoft and AOL.
Zuckerberg started at Harvard in September 2002. In his first year, he created Facemash, a Facebook predecessor (前身), which let students select the college’s best looking people from a selection of photos.
He launched Facebook from his Harvard room in February 2004. It was the start of a rollercoaster ride that would connect half a billion people worldwide and make him the world’s youngest billionaire.
Mark Zuckerberg is now one of the most influential people on the planet. He has dined with the president of the USA and regularly attends global economic summits and technology conferences. He stated: “The thing I really care about is the mission, making the world open.” In 2010, Zuckerberg signed a promise, in which he promised to donate at least half of his life wealth to charity.

While staring out of the window during a flight, not everyone will think carefully about the question why airplanes have rounded windows rather than square ones.
Over the years, aerospace engineering has made huge steps in airplane technology, meaning planes can carry more passengers and go faster. The planes have also changed shape to increase safety—including the windows. As commercial air travel took off in the mid－20th century, airline companies began to fly at higher altitudes to lower their cost—the air density(密度) is lower up there, creating less drag(阻力) for airplanes. However, higher altitudes came with problems, like the fact human beings can’t really survive at 30，000 feet. To make that possible, the cabin was changed to a cylindrical(圆柱体) shape to support the pressure inside. But at first, plane builders left in the standard square windows and this expansion meant disaster. The de__Havilland__Comet came into fashion in the 1950s. With a closed cabin, it was able to go higher and faster than other aircraft.
However, where there’s a corner, there’s a weak spot. Windows, having four corners, have four potential weak spots, making them likely to crash under stress—such
as air pressure. By curving the window, the stress that would eventually break the window corner is distributed and the chance of it breaking is reduced. Rounded shapes are also stronger and resist deformation(变形), and can thus survive the extreme differences in pressure between the inside and outside of the aircraft.
Fortunately, designers figured out the lack of design pretty quick. Now we have nice, rounded airplane windows that can resist the pressure of traveling altitude. It gives being able to gaze out of your window to the world from 35，000 feet a whole new outlook, doesn’t it?

Every year in mid-November, nature treats us to one of her most spectacular firework displays in the form of the Leonid meteors (狮子座流星雨). A meteor is a space rock that enters the Earth's atmosphere, and as it falls to the Earth, the air resistance (阻力) makes it extremely hot. What we see is a“shooting star.”When the Earth meets many meteors at once, we call it a meteor shower. Over the course of a few nights, the number of shooting stars increases, reaching a peak rate of up to 1,000
meteors an hour. The galactic (星系的) storm happens when the Earth passes through the broken rock pieces left by the Temple-Tuttle comet as it approaches the Sun on its 33-year orbit. As the Earth crosses the comet's trail ( 尾 迹 ), grains of dust hit the Earth at 44 miles per hour and turn to water high up in the atmosphere, burning up in a flash of light. The size of the storm varies from year to year, and the dust seen burning up on an annual basis is usually dust that was deposited (沉积) well over one hundred years previously.
Although they have been part of the calendar of the sky for thousands of years, the Leonid meteors can bring surprises. Quite recently, astronomers were astonished when a series of bright fireballs flashed across the sky a day earlier than they'd expected. Since then, however, they have improved their computer equipment and announced that they can now predict the shooting star peak to within one minute.
If you're hoping to catch the display, you should seek out a clear, dark site, away from street lights if possible, as they will decrease the clarity of the meteor shower. And rather than focusing on one part of the sky, you would be well advised to keep your eyes moving over as much of the sky as possible.
