Basically how you would like a true friend to be, you should be like this to your true friends. Trust, forgiveness, accountability(责任) are some ingredients of a true friend. True friendships are hard to come by. And what’s more, life is short. So treasure these friends if you have already had them, if you don’t continue to search, because once you have them, life becomes so much easier to live, no matter what happens. I have been through pretty tough patches and I dare say, without my friends I would not have made it.‎ Friendships need lots of energy and patience to maintain them. Not to mention time too. When your friends need you, sometimes when things are not going too well on your side, it is often so easy to turn a deaf ear to their pleas. It is especially during these times that you must find the strength in you to help your friends. And it is during these times that your friendships will be forged and made stronger.‎ And you must always be happy for their success, even when things are not going too well on your side. It might be hard to do for some people but it is something that you need to learn. Think about all the sacrifices your friends have made for you and all the times when they were happy for you despite their own troubles.‎ Think about all the happy times you all enjoyed and the sad, rough times you all went through together. That should give you sufficient patience to actually be a true friend for them. Remember, true friends are the next best thing to family. They will always be your pillar of support no matter what happens. Always.‎ ‎21.What do you think is the best title for this passage?‎ A.A precious friendship ‎ B.A true friend C.A happy time ‎ D.Friend, a treasure ‎22.What is not needed to be a true friend?‎ A.You need to trust your friends.‎ B.You need to forgive your friends’ mistakes.‎ C.You need to use some money to care friendships.‎ D.You need to be helpful to your friends.‎ ‎23.Why does the author say true friendships are hard to come by?‎ A.Friendship can help through pretty tough patches.‎ B.Friendship needs lots of energy and patience.‎ C.Your friends need you to give more help to them.‎ D.You are always to be on your friends’ side.‎ ‎24.What does the author write this passage for?‎ A.To introduce types of friendships.‎ B.To analyse the friendships to us.‎ C.To teach us how to be a true friend.‎ D.To let us enjoy the precious friendship.‎ B On a dark winter day in Russia in 1896, Sergei Prokofiev sat by a piano next to his mother. She was helping him compose (作曲) his first piece of music. Sergei was only five years old.‎ He had overheard his parents discussing a terrible famine (饥荒) in India. The picture Sergei had of those hungry people in his mind caused him to write a story, in the form of musical notes. Sergei could not read music, so he picked out a tune on the piano keys, and his mother recorded the notes. Sergei titled it “Indian Gallop.”‎ Sergei's mother began giving him piano lessons for 20 minutes a day, and his ability grew quickly. She had a great love for music, too, and Sergei often lay awake in bed at night and listened to her play the piano.‎ Sergei's parents found a famous music teacher for him. The teacher shouted at ‎ Sergei when he didn't practice reading and playing music. Sergei later wrote, “I wanted to compose great musical plays, and instead I was given all sorts of boring tasks.” Yet he persisted with his studies and grew up to be a great composer.‎ In 1936 a children's theater asked Sergei to write music that would teach children about different instruments. He was happy and wrote the piece in a week, calling it Peter and the Wolf.‎ Sergei's Peter and the Wolf was enjoyed by children as well as adults. The first time Sergei played the piece on the piano, the children listening to it loved it so much that they made him play the ending three extra times. He was excited.‎ Today Sergei Prokofiev is remembered not only for his contributions (贡献) to classical music, but also for his sense of fun.‎ ‎25.When he was five, Sergei _____.‎ A.could read music B.experienced a famine C.created his first composition D.wrote a story about his parents ‎26.What does the underlined part “persisted with” in Paragraph 4 mean?‎ A.Hurried up. Many of them owe a great deal to chance: a lucky encounter(相遇) with someone who becomes the love of your life. A new teacher who spots a talent ‎ you didn’t know you had. These moments seem to be the product of fate or luck. We can’t control them.‎ But is that true? No necessarily. Defining moments shape our lives, but we don’t have to wait for them to happen. We can be the authors of them. It is possible to create defining moments if we understand more about them. Our research shows that they all share a set of common elements. We start by asking: why do we remember certain experiences and forget others? In the case of big days, such as weddings, the answer is pretty clear----it’s a celebration that is grand in scale and rich in emotion. No surprise that it’s more memorable than a maths lesson. But for other experiences in life ----from holidays to work projects----it’s not so clear why we remember what we do.‎ Consider an experiment in which participants were asked to submerge(浸入) their hands for 60 seconds in buckets filled with 14℃ water. (Remember 14℃ water feels much colder than 14℃ air.) They were then asked to submerge their hands for 90 seconds instead of 60, but during the final 30 seconds, the water warmed up to 15℃. The participants were then given a choice: would you rather repeat the first trial or the second?‎ Psychologists have explained the reasons for this puzzling result. When people assess an experience, they tend to forget or ignore its length. Instead, they seem to rate the experience based on two key moments: the best or worst moment, known as the peak, and the ending.‎ In the participants’ memories, what stood out for them was that the longer trial ended more comfortably than the shorter one. So when we assess our experiences, we don’t average our minute-by-minute feelings. Rather, we tend to remember flagship moments: the peaks, the pits(低谷) and the transitions. What we don’t remember are the bits in between----sometimes there is little to distinguish one week from the next.‎ Partly this is because there may be only a dozen moments in your life that show who you are----those are big defining moments. But there are smaller experiences, too, in the context of a memorable holiday, romantic date or work achievement. Once ‎ we understand how we remember certain moments and why, we can start to create more moments that matter.‎ ‎29.How does the author understand defining moments?‎ A.We can create defining moments in our lives.‎ B.Defining moments are just out of our control.‎ C.No similarities exist between defining moments.‎ D.Defining moments consist of smaller experiences.‎ ‎30.We can learn from the experiment that _____.‎ A.the striking moments are more likely to be remembered.‎ B.the length of an experience determines our memory of it C.it is meaningful to distinguish the bits in between flagship moments.‎ D.all the components of an experience should be equally remembered ‎31.What would probably be discussed in the following part of the text?‎ A.What to prepare for life’s trials.‎ B.Why to create defining moments.‎ C.Whom to owe our good fates to.‎ D.How to create life’s big moments.‎ D The computer is a perfect tool for all those categories (种类) , but…‎ ‎ You just never really had the time to take a basic computer class, and the books about how to actually use a computer are heavy reading and it seems like computers and computer manufactures (制造者) have a language all of their own, so the books really don’t help you much, anyway.‎ This is a web site for YOU ‎ Here is your chance to get the basic knowledge you need, so you can enjoy the time you spend in front of your computer, and you can learn at your own pace. There is no doubt that WeChat makes communication convenient and our spare time colorful. However, there exist some potential risks if we overshare it. One severe problem is letting out privacy, which may cause economic losses.Besides, oversharing can make others uncomfortable, for they think you are showing off.‎ Therefore,we should never post our personal information in WeChat circle, and nor should we add strangers to the list of friends randomly. It's wiser to set aside some time to accompany parents or do something more meaningful.‎ I would appreciate it if you could take my advice into consideration. Best wishes!‎ Yours truly,‎ Li Hua
